SABRINA SANCHEZ, LCSW, CASAC, PSYCHOTHERAPIST.
Hello, I am the founder and lead therapist at Live Well Individual and Family Counseling Service. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a graduate of Fordham University (1993). I am also a Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (2011). It is with a caring heart and a sincere desire to help others that I serve my community.
My expertise is in treating co-occurring disorders (COD), previously known as dual diagnosis. When a person is struggling with abuse of alcohol or other substances, and also has a mental health condition, such as a mood disorder, or a physical illness, they are coping with multiple issues. The intensity of not one, but two illnesses may become overwhelming for any individual and their family. Often people feel as though they are alone, and no one understands.
I am experienced with treating addictions; predominately alcohol and opioid use disorder, and treating other serious mental health conditions such as, Clinical Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis, and Trauma. I have worked predominantly in an outpatient setting, serving a variety of ages, mostly adults, providing individual therapy, crisis intervention, and facilitating therapy groups focused on a variety of mental health and recovery topics. I believe recovery is possible for everyone, and that substance use and mental health disorders are treatable conditions, despite the challenges.
I provide compassionate care. During your individual sessions we will explore the issues that you are interested in addressing. Perhaps you have a present concern or have chosen to work on resolving an issue of your past. In treatment I focus on helping you gain understanding, insight and awareness of your emotions and behaviors. I will also encourage you to maintain your wellness with proper self-care. My approach to treatment is a strength based perspective, and person centered.
How do you differentiate yourself from other businesses in your category and area?
